Flanges are used to connect pipes with each other, to valves, to fittings, and to specialty items such as strainers and pressure vessels. The annular surface perpendicular to the axis of the pipe or pipe fitting is equidistantly distributed with bolt holes along the circumference.
Flanges are fixed (such as integrally cast flanges or welded flanges) or flexible. Flexible flanges have some rings. These rings can be used alone or in multiple assembly. Forces are applied to the socket of the pipe through these rings. Freely rotate around the axis before connecting.
