Ethiopia will build a chemical-free wastewater treatment plant in its capital

The Ethiopian Water Development Commission built a sewage treatment plant in a building located in the capital Addis Ababa. The plant has a production capacity of 1500m³/day.

 

The committee is part of the Ethiopian Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Energy, and it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the US-based Biopipe Global company to implement the project. Biopipe Global is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lifequest World Corp (LQWC), which has developed the world's only highly scalable on-site sludge and chemical-free wastewater treatment technology.

 

This small wastewater treatment plant is expected to become a reference project for Biopipe Global's decentralized wastewater treatment project in the country in the near future.

 

 

 

Water shortage in East African countries

 

The Republic of Ethiopia is currently experiencing a severe water crisis, affecting approximately 62 million people, almost half of the country’s population.
